Knitted Cake Book

I just discovered this book in the library and it's one of the best novelty knitting books I have used. There is no knitting in the round or double pointed needles. Most of the patterns uses double knitting and a couple of the patterns use exactly the same colour of yarn so it's great for those on a budget at the moment. It's also good as you don't have to have the nicest yarn but can use really cheap acrylic.

Almost all of the patterns use 3.25mm (US size 3) needles. As you can see from the cover there are some delicious cakes inside...everything from a fruit tart with lots of different fruit on it to a chocolate swiss roll. The book is very cheap to buy and there are 20 patterns in...all of which are so simple you'll want to knit them up straightaway!

According to the blurb on the inside of the front cover it was Susan Penny's first knitting book! What a great first project : )

Happy knitting...
